the wife and i spent the afternoon on the st croix river. mid 70's and very little traffic. its amazing how a lot of folks don't start summer until memorial day. that's fine w/ me!

i caught a walleye right away. too short. there is a 15" minimum. as usual, the easy first fish was the kiss of death. all total i caught 4 short walleyes, a 21" female walleye that i chose to let spawn another year, several perch, rock bass, sheephead and 2 kitty cats. it wasn't on fire by any means, but a great day on the water.

we might try to sneak out tomorrow after mothers day brunch tomorrow. the fish are finally getting back to where they normally are after spawning.

happy mothers day to all the TH mothers

we didn't get back out today. our parents stayed longer than we thought after brunch. that was fine, the wind picked up and it would have been pretty rough

the bad news is it looks like a rainy week. they are predicting 2-4" and stormy. time will tell
