I've seen some of the videos. It's not something I am comfortable doing, even in an open field.

A few more days left and it could still happen! When my buddy and I doubled on opening day in Maryland we had scouted the area the Saturday before. Gobblers everywhere! That morning-silence. Around 8:30 he decides to try and locates some gobblers. Not more than 10 minutes later he is practically running back to the blind with a report of several gobblers possibly headed our way. To make a long story short (compete story under the Turkey Hunting heading) four gobblers come in I take the lead bird and he takes number three. You know the moral of this story-it can change on a dime with one gobble and it's not over until it's over. Hang in there, there is till time for the turnaround! I realize that when you do everything you know how to do and pull all the tricks out of the bag and nothing works, it is more than frustrating. But I think that's why we love turkey hunting so much and why every bird is a trophy. Hope you bag the biggest one yet!

Made it out for may last day in the turkey woods yesterday. Had 1-2 toms out in the field the entire time I was out but would not come in.

This bas been the best yet most frustrating season I have hunted. I saw a LOT of toms every time I hunted but they would not respond to any calls, any combination or decoys or even decoyless setups.

I've never hunted when I had this many birds around and could not get one of them to come in, even if they didn't come in close enough for a shot.

I did take the late season this yer, which I had hunted successfully in the past. Despite what the biologists say I believe the weather kicked their breading cycle a little off this year and they were just tired by May.

Regardless, I saw a lot of birds as well as a plethora of other wildlife so itwas still a great season.

I got a few pictures of a small velvet buck last night which I will post later. That is the first headbone I've seen this year.

Good luck to anyone still hunting today, which is the official last day of our season as well as the TH Turkey Championship!!
