Coming along nicely, the windows look great. Are they one way glass only, you can look out but not in?  --099-780

Digging the trench for water and power

Well, after getting the ditch dug for the power and water lines, we passed all inspections. Time to connect to the water meter and bury it all in. Well, the wife and I had a trip planned to Harrodsburg, KY to start on the bourbon trail and visit 5 or 6 distilleries so no cabin work this past weekend. Yesterday morning early, I drove over to the cabin to see what fittings I needed and to make a shopping list for other projects there. What I found was water... The water meter had blown off the line and had filled my trench completely up and water was running everywhere under the cabin. the pipes in the trench were floating and out of place, the water was cutting trenches in the sand under the cabin and everything on the ground was wet. I immediately started building dams and ditches to divert the water around the cabin instead of under it. they finally got it fixed about 2 hours later. They said they knew they had a leak in that area since Saturday but waited until Monday to check it out. 60 thousand gallons of water flowed through my trench, under my cabin and into the pond. the water guys did pump out the trench so that was a big help...  Happy eclipse day!!!!

Sounds like the distillery tour is about what you really need now until everything dries up. Enjoy the trip.
