Alpha Male
« on: December 04, 2016, 11:47:37 AM »
This big boy came across my property behind the house. The dogs ran out to run him off. He bowed up to both of them and was all humped up moving towards them.  When I put the cross hairs on him I knew he was big. The .243 thumped him and right there is where he died.  These are the kind of yotes that kill farm animals and pets.  I'm glad I was able to put him down.

Congrats on the coyote, Russcat!  did you happen to weigh it?  the one I shot recently weighed 27 lbs.  it was a female.  Don't know how big they run around here.

Good job Russ that's a big yote!

I did not Louie.  But an educated guess would be about 70 lbs.  Typical mature males around here will weigh 50-60lbs.  But this one was really big.  And he was in such great shape too.  His pelt was flawless until that 100 grain soft point changed that!

He would have made a good looking full body mount but I got other things to spend that $500 on right now

70 lbs!  That is really big!  never heard of one that big.  Always thought a 50 lb yote was big.  I agree about the full body mount, can't see spending $500, besides where are you gonna display it, if you don't have a man cave?
