Sorry to hear that, but you're not alone.  Happens to every hunter sooner or later.

Hang in there HM, it happens and like others have said you don't like it when it happens to you. It's also not just the archery hunters, if you remember tracking for hours and not finding my muzzleloader deer in KY a few years back. Lace up those big boy booties and get back in the stand. That first squirrel you hear on the ground will put you back in focus. Good Luck

HM, it sure happens more than you think, I, as you know don't bow hunt but when turkey hunting I run into some bow hunters and have helped them track with more blood than you had and lose the deer somewhere.  Put a camera out where he comes out and if you get a picture of him, it will make you feel better. @--0--0101

Keep those cameras out HM.  If he was in his core area, as it sounds he was, he will show back up in a week or two.  Happened to me last year with a rifle.

I know it's a hard pill to sallow but I fell your pain. Hang in there Robert and hopefully he'll show up on a camera in a few days. I've taken a buck before with a rifle than had a broadhead in his shoulder that was a few years old. Quartering shots can be tough even with a rifle.

We checked trail cams yesterday and still no sign of the buck I shot. He either relocated, is still mad at me or he died. Once the leaves fall we should be able to see a lot more of the woods and maybe find him if he did die. I am not giving up hope that he recovered and is just staying hidden...  Time will tell...
