This past weekend we had our annual fall work weekend. We got our 10 food plots planted and a few secret spots in the woods. This year we plant from Whitetail Institute Clover, Oats, Winter Peas, Wintergreens, No Plow and Secret Spot. From Pennington Seed Trophy Radishes. We had a great turn out as of our 20 members we had 17 to make work weekend. The others had a hall pass due to medical issues and family matters. As always the guys did a great job in the Georgia heat and humidity. Seven of us old retired guys went down on Thursday  and had everything ready to hit the ground running on Saturday. We had everything fertilized, limed, seeded by 1:30 Saturday afternoon. After several showers we had a few adult beverages and a real nice steak dinner that evening. It was nice to have folks back at camp and get the 2016-17 started. Our archery season opens September 10th. Just waiting for Mother Nature to provide some much needed rain...fingers crossed.

We are watching the tropical storm spaghetti noddles closely.  We sure hope that some of that rain drops on our food plots.  They sure need it!
