Saw this little guy hanging around outside my office this morning.

I've been hearing them but only seen a couple.

Many of the cicada species have annual hatch rates while some are on a 13 or 17 year hatch. Several years ago I got to experience a summer of the 17 year hatch. Maddening! The noise from millions of cicadas going 24 X 7 was intense and drove me crazy. It was so loud you even had to turn the TV up inside the house. Outside, normal talking was impossible. It was interesting but I hope I never have to go through that again...  LOL

I think we sent them your way, they were bad here (the 17 year batch) several weeks ago. What an annoying sound for about 2 weeks, it never stops.  @--0--0127

Good trout bait also, but a pain to handle.  We have not had many this year, but on a bad year they are noisy

Yeah 2-3 weeks ago they showed up here and have been buzzing up a storm.  This isn't one of the 17 year hatches, just their normal racket.

I have been seeing a few of them around here, too.
