Spraying weeds
« on: August 16, 2016, 07:50:56 AM »
Well, we finally got some much needed rain over the past two weeks and everything has really "greened-up".  The alfalfa was starting to get over taken with Johnson grass, horsenettle and some other junk.  The sprayer is a Scorpion I purchased about ten years ago from a local farm and ranch store in OK.  It is still going strong.  It covers about 12-14' with each pass.

Looks nice and green, we are getting just enough rain to keep my clover plots green at present.  Somehow I have not gotten any annual plots in this year, did get 5 of them tilled up , but that is as far as I got.  Sharon (HG) always helped me with the annual plots with Lime, fertilizer and seeds, without her it has been hard to get interesting in doing it

Sounds like you are on top of things. Those plots will be awesome come hunting season.

Yari - It's 40 gallons which allows me to cover about 4 acres.  I use pelletized fertilizer in my 3-point spreader.

that's pretty good. I have a 30 gallon pull behind and get about 2 acres out of it
