SK canada- bad news update
« on: August 14, 2016, 07:00:13 PM »
well, dad called last week and started by saying "i'm not getting and younger". he's 75. he wanted to do an all inclusive goose/duck hunt. he signed me up today. we will be going to twill lakes, SK. 3 day hunt and 2 days of travel. I haven't done a full goose/duck hunt for 20 years. dad loves it and hasn't hunted for a few years. maybe this will fuel his interest again. I hope so. it will be dad, his best friend who we've hunted with for 40 years and me. maybe a buddy of mine will go to.

since the cabin is iffy at best, i'm spreading my wings. SK in October. SD in november. wow, 2 hunts in one year. maybe I should retire and do this more??????????? should be a blast

That sounds like a wonderful hunt. The bonus is it's with your Dad...just don't get no better than that. Take lot's of pictures and that retirement thing is a pretty good gig too!

dad doesn't have patience. he need immediate gratification when hunting. I enjoy being out there w/ nature. he be happy shooting one from his deck. but who knows, he may get the bug. it should be fun

Yeah Yari, given your cabin situation, the Canada & SD adventures are coming at a good time.  Enjoy the heck out of that trip with your dad & buddies - we don't make the time for that stuff as often as we should (I know I don't).

dad called today. he has a growing hernia. he's had several surgeries for this over the years. I never heard of anyone w/ so many hernias.

the trip will have to wait for another time. Canada is no place to have medical issues. to bad, but better safe than sorry

all things happen for a reason

Sorry to hear that Yari, but yeah, there's always a plan behind this stuff.  Hang in there, at least you have a line of sight to hunting back at your cabin!
