cabin issues-UPDATED
« on: July 18, 2016, 05:47:56 PM »
I got a call from the forester. all culverts on gravel roads are washed out and several on plowed roads. they had 6-10" last week when I was in Canada on Monday. in his words, "your road will be closed indefinitely". they are doing it by importance. the nearest full time resident is 3 miles from me. it's not a priority.

food plots are going to be tough. I was planning to plant 7/29. I also called my logger. he also owns a gravel pit. he said "maybe, but not likely by 7/29. we'll see. the rain saga continues.

wish me luck, i'll need it

Wow that's not the kind of news one wants to hear. 6 to 10 inches is a lot of water. Hope that they can get to you sooner than later...fingers crossed...best of luck to you on a speedy fix.

Good luck Yari - I suspect you'll have to get up there & lay eyes on it first hand to know exactly what you're contending with.

That's not good, hope you can get into where you need to. That's a lot of water we had similar here in Ga in 94 washed roads and bridges out from Atlanta all the way to Fla. took years to get it all repaired and back open. State routes got repaired first then on down the line.

I was wondering about the roads when it occurred to me I have culverts to cross to get to my top plot. i'm not looking forward to the first trip. I may be replacing culverts. heck, my pond could have washed out.

only time will tell. the forester and logger are keeping me posted. i'd hate to lose planting/hunting time, but priorities take over.

i'll keep you posted

Wow! Hopefully folks downstream will be OK. Could be worse in a sense if all that rain came down as snow! --7-8-9

Good luck getting things back in shape.

Hope they get your road done in time for you to get your work done. It will probably turn off too dry to plant later on. @--0--0126
