Caught one this a.m.

Went out this morning with my partner and caught a Lauer (dog fish) pribably 20 inchs and a couple of small perch and missed a big walleye and caught one nice walleye partner got some small perch

They hit bass baits, too.  Caught one once on a plastic worm, and right away, I knew I had something different than a bass.

walleye dosen't taste like Cod and I do eat them.  there mild nice eating...Lauer , we don't eat them pictured is the walleye I caught, I caught the Walleye on a perch worm harness and actually the other fish wasn't a lauer it was probably common name Bowfish I caught him on a perch sonar

the odd fish is a bowfin, we call them dogfish but pictured is a walleye  love eating those

now metalman I thought for sure you would know a walleye thats pictured...you do catch a lot of them in Erie but the dogfish is a bowfin and not a lauer or they spell it lawyer ;D

I thought that was a walleye. I've eaten my share. I misread your post. I thought you were saying it was a dogfish.

I've eaten eelpout and was wondering if dogfish was similar. it wasn't bad. kinda like cod

sorry metalman I got u mixed up with someone else  ;D  my lake here where I live is a relatively shallow lake but has walleye,perch,bass northern pike etc.
a great walleye lake but its deepest place is about 55 feet or so You'd love walleye fishing, real fun @--0--0118
