cats will eat anything. i've caught them on cranks, jigs, crawlers, plastics... as long as it gets in front of them they will eat it on the river. and man they are tough. fight much better than walleye

They are tough and I've also caught them on plastic and crankbaits but never a jig like they were using. They are a good fighting fish. I caught one this year during our tournament on a plastic crawfish over 6 pounds.

Cats will bite most anything I caught this one with Splittoe on a shakyhead jig with a zman hula stix.

i don't want to hi-jack this post, but the cat numbers are good in the st croix, w/ some 50+ lbs. some day i'm going to target them. they are tough

We did. I have been busy turkey hunting so haven't been here much but it was a great time. My nephew still talks about it. My first time on the great lakes. reminded me a lot of the gulf. other than not having that salt water smell, you would have never known. I also got seasick the second afternoon, just like the gulf, when we had 6 foot seas. Didn't puke but had to get off the boat. lol

Overall, a great time. and Capt Randy took great care of us!!!
