KY youth turkey hunt
« on: March 31, 2016, 09:16:24 AM »
My daughter and a friend and myself will be heading to KY in the morning to Licking River Outfitters to go on a youth turkey hunt I won at a local NWTF banquet. This place is a non for profit 600 acre farm that only allows veterans, disabled and youth hunt. They run strictly off of donations. If you get a chance check there website out at http://lickingriveroutfitters.com/   I will let you all know how we did on Monday.    -0078     @--0--0109

We heard and seen a lot of birds but could not seal the deal. We had a great time and made some good new friends . What Robin is doing there for the wounded warriors and kids is awesome. If you know of a wounded warrior that would like to hunt with please help them get in touch with Licking River Outfitters, they will not be disappointed.

Snort,
So glad you and Megan had this opportunity to spend some quality time together. You may not have gotten a bird but the memories will last a life time.

Sorry she did not get a bird, but also great to hear feed back on an outfitter even if the deal was not sealed. Sounds like and I hope you guys had a good time away anyway.

I classify turkey hunts in 4 classes:

Good Turkey Hunt: I got to go turkey hunting. Anytime you get to go, it is a good hunt.
Great Turkey Hunt: I heard a turkey gobble.
Awesome Turkey Hunt: I had a turkey responding and coming my way.
Phenomenal Turkey Hunt: I killed a turkey or called one in for someone who killed it.

Its all about the hunt, not the kill...

HM, that's a great summary of how to look at it!  Thanks for the feedback Snort, I hope your daughter gets more time in the woods soon.  What does that outfitter offer besides turkey hunts?
