The foreheads of the cam bucks are swelling and I have some with a couple of inches of growth. I love watching the velvet bloom....

For some reason the deer here loose their head gear very early. I'm not sure if it is from pressure or environmental...We are in steep hill country, yet still have thousands of acres of ag field around the hill. So food is plentiful. Though being at the altitude we are, earlier cold temps in the fall and later ones in the spring... @--0--0117

I just saw a six point still hanging onto his head gear and a lot of elk still sporting last years lumber. This is crazy, those folks out there shed hunting are really having a hard time of it with the sheds still on the move.  @--0--0117

Our deer are butt headed now too, but you can see the new growth coming on if you look real close!

Haven't found any sheds yet!? @--0--0117

Haven't found a shed yet this spring, but haven't been out much.  Will need to go pull my cam card to see if any growth is showing up yet.  As of a couple of weeks ago, didn't see any.  With things greening up quickly here lately I haven't seen any significant activity on my plots.
One of God's greatest gifts to us is
the great outdoors - get out there
and enjoy it!
