He called them in on a night hunt Yari using the Fox Pro- He spotted some deer running across the corner of the field and the Coyotes were right behind them so he hit the howl and they stopped and he whacked 1 out 4. The one was in the field in the open the other  3 were in the pucker brush and gave no shot.

He hunts for fox mostly so he runs the call in just about any field with some thick stuff nearby that he can find. He sets up using the wind 100% of the time by that I mean he gets where he can see his down wind side clearly because they (especially the coyotes) want to get down wind every time. The coyotes are a bonus most of the time around here so when you call you will mostly get Red and Grey fox responding. He uses a green or red light to shine the fields and he doesn't turn the light off until he is done with that stand. He moves a lot if he starts at 10-11pm and hunts til 3-4am he will move to 10 of 12 spots he has picked out in advance. Another tip is hunt when the weather is bad cold snow light rain are perfect cause all them critters are lookin' to eat!! I am suppose to go this weekend and it's going to be cold down in the teens Sat night with some snow flurries should be good. I'll let you all know how it goes.

My question to you BT, Does your knee hurt from kickin' yourself?  --099-780

Ya'll know I'm a numbers guy... 1 yote pelt at 65.00, 4 fox pelts at 17.50 = 130.00 (my local buyers prices) not a bad nights work. I saw Cabela,s is selling tanned fox pelts for 195.00, Moscow Fur and Hide starts at 95.00 and down. MFH sells tanned yote hides from 295.00.

Yikes - I must be way out of touch with fur prices - hard to believe a yote is that much & a fox is only 25% of a yote.  I gotta find some time to hit the woods.

Dutch do you give your fur guy some kind of perks or something?  $65 for a yote hide is a really good price.  They've been so low around here for years it isn't worth skinning them.  The highest I've ever seen around here is about $30.

Tis the season for some yote whackin for sure.  I hope to get out soon myself.  Tell your buddy to keep on a whackin blue!  --09--0 @--0--0138
