Another pig down
« on: January 14, 2016, 07:12:18 AM »
Sorry I don't have a picture this time, but it is a pretty good story.  I was watching 9 bucks and 5 does in the field when all of the sudden the bucks started getting fidgety and trotted across the field.  I aimed the spotting scope in the direction from which they were running and noticed 4 fat sows and about a dozen piglets coming into the food plot.  I was on the phone with my neighbor at the time and told him we have pigs in view.  He asked if I wanted him to come over and I said, "sure".  We devised a quick sneak plan as he drove his golf cart over.  We eased within 200 yards and used some round hay bales as cover/gun rests.  I was shooting 7mm Mag and he was shooting 30-06.  We choreographed how to shoot at the same time.  After the shot, he looked at me and asked if I shot.  I said "yes, did you"?  His response was "yes" and we laughed at how perfectly timed our shots were.  We looked for the pig and found her crumpled up about 20 yards from the shot.  Unfortunately we were both aiming at the same pig.  Oh well one is better than none.

Very cool.  At least you got one piglet maker down.  Keep after it.  Maybe the others will get tired of getting shot at and losing their counterparts and move on somewhere else.  SHOOTEM ALL!
