ice fishing
« on: January 03, 2016, 05:40:03 PM »
a buddy and I were going stir crazy. it's January and the ice is just getting "OK". we went out and could only reach 6' of water. 3-4" of ice. we put out some tip-ups and jigged 1 pole each. no fish for 3 hours. all the gear worked well and we took the edge off

the burgers and beers at the tavern were great. I ran into an old classmate and the war stories started flowing. all in all it was a fun afternoon.

LAKE OF THE WOODS is only 1 1/2 weeks away. sound like a major cold front next week. it's always -20 when we go, why should this year be any different. oh well, it will make some good ice

The ice here is still not thick enough but now that deer season is over, I'm entering fish mode.

Careful what you ask for yari. Next week the high temps are to be single digits above 0.  @--0--0128 People will start calling you yar-icicle!  --099-780 Your friend Dr. Drip.

Would like to see some ice & less rain so the rivers can get back halfway to a normal level.  Good luck Yari, I hope Dr Drip stays at a safe distance!
