2 Yotes Down!
« on: December 06, 2015, 09:08:22 PM »
I'm joining the club with King Ben And Notsams. You boys got some catching up to do.

Today I brought the fox pro to the ground blind with me.  With almost zero deer pics this year my confidence in getting a deer is low. We just ain't seeing no deer this year. About 9:00 am I set out the call and climbed back in the blind.  Waited a few minutes for things to quiet down and hit the woodpecker sound. Within 30 seconds the first one came running and met its maker instantly.  I turned off the call and waited a few minutes.  Turned it back on and the second one came in.  I shot it on the run from about 100 yds. She slapped the ground but I noticed it was still moving and kicking so i chambered another round and put my cross hairs on it.  It got up, I fired again, down it went again. Still moving, chambered another round, put the cross hairs on it, it got up and received a third round of hot lead.  Game over!

It sure was nice hearing that .270 sound off today. It's been a while.

Ever seen what a .270 caliber Winchester Ballistic Silvertip does to a yote?

Warning! Very Graphic!

Congrats Russcat, good to see the pack being thinned out.  I spine shot one on the run with a 12 ga slug about 30 years ago, darn near cut it in two (it didn't run no more). Looks like your .270 cut a similar swath.    @--0--0133

Hey Russ those pictures aren't graphic, they're beautiful.  @--0--0105 Congrats on the kills.  Sometimes when hunting is slow for one game species you just gotta change it up.  Sorry for the bad deer season, but your predator season is looking good so far!

There sure isn't any shortage of yotes.   I plan to bust a few more this year.
