Bad weather for rut
« on: November 02, 2015, 05:28:19 PM »
Next 10 day forecast for temps as high as 76 with lows  around high 40's
My Hunting apps show next Tuesday thru Thursday as peak of rut. This past weekend was warm and no deer movement 😿😿

For my neck of the woods I could set my calendar for November 05 to be the peak year after year. However we are also calling for temps at or near 75 this week. Wait and see what happens I guess. Good luck with them.

While it seem like the cold weather gets the deer moving. Where I hunt you need to be in the woods from the 25th of October til Nov 15th if at all possible. The weather want stop mother nature as the rut is going to take place. However some dry cool weather would be nice. Looks like the next 10 days will be wet and above normal temps...but I'll be out there. Best of luck!

I agree weather ain't real good, but they will still rut....

Heck, the does are only loving one time a year, and if I was a buck, I don't believe I'd care how hot or cold it was if I was lookin at only a couple days to be whispering sweet nothings into the ladies' ears.

When the rut is on the bucks will be on the move. The doe will hang tight but weather wont stop it. Up until last year the biggest buck I had ever killed was on Nov 5th and it was 79 degrees here in IL. I was hunting in a tee shirt.

I have been in NY for the last few days working. I need shorts and a t-shirt not a suit up here. How do you hunt in this heat? Lol.  I can't wait to get back down South with the rest of the Talkhunting gang. I'll be back on stand tomorrow.

I saw a buck running thru a strip mall yesterday night 2 hours past sunset.

Out this morning. Nothing. A bit of a drizzle moved in
