Will It Ever End?
« on: October 14, 2015, 03:58:33 PM »
I saw 98 degrees at 3:30 today.  Zero rain in over 30 days.  Less than one inch total rein in the last 60 days.  It's so dry we can't put food plots in this year.  Lord have mercy we need some cooler weather and rain.

I feel your pain russcat.  Hopefully you've got a good watering hole to hunt over.  Wash your car that always makes it rain for me....hahaha!

we had a wet spring followed by a dry summer...now the rain just keeps coming and it is making building very slow.Thankfully my soy beans did well as overseeding them was a waste of seed...nothing came up. We have already had frost here three or four times now

Yesterday it was 59 for a low and 98 for a high.  That's just crazy.  We are on track to break the all time high average temp for October by more than 1 full degree.  That is a lot.  Last year's October was the 9th hottest on record.  This trend of higher temps combined with drought is getting very concerning.

Has been warm and clear here too - probably have not had a half inch of rain in the last month - great for the farmers getting the corn & beans out of the field (they're all just about done here), but not so good for other things.  Supposed to hit 29 tomorrow night - the clear skies & low humidity are starting to let things really cool down.  Just need some good rain.

Finally!  It will be below 50 tonight and possibly some sprinkles as well.  Should have more movement here in Oklahoma.                            %^$^

Send that cool weather down this way Foss.  I'm so ready for some relief.

I think about moving my family now more than ever. When all the parents have moved on to the next plane I think we will sell everything off and head for the mountains somewhere.  My wife and I both really hate the heat and humidity. We both have been responsible with retirement savings, and we stand to inherit about 300 acres (not deer country).  Maybe at least we will be able to get a cabin on a hill with a nice view of a river somewhere in Colorado, Utah, Nevada,  Wyoming.   Ahh to be away from this heat is a dream I hope to fulfill someday.
