youth hunt
« on: October 10, 2015, 08:26:20 PM »
well, we got a lot of 'catcher and the rye' read. it was windy and 70 degrees. we saw 2 does and a fawn. for some reason the other doe lost her 2 fawns. I had them on camera up until 2 days ago. seemed odd. the 5 have been inseparable for the last 2 months

anyway, we had a good time. I don't know if we will go tomorrow. 80's and windy. plus, I really have no pics of bucks during the day. i'll leave it up to em. she's a football nut, so I think I already know the answer. she said we should hunt during the gun season in November instead when the bucks are moving. probably a good idea

I hope to hear better results from other TH members. good luck to all

Same here Yari.  I pulled my memory cards today.  After almost 2 weeks I had 645 pics and not one was of a deer.  We have a bunch of pigs that have moved in on us.  It's A/R time at our place.  I have to get them pigs out of there ASAP or we won't have a deer season.  Our place is small so we have to move quick.  They're hanging out at the two feeders.  NO DEER!

At least you and Emily got some good time together.  Hopefully that mamma doe just had her babies stashed somewhere.

it's really hot here already. 85 degrees predicted which is 20 degrees above average and should break the record. I was hoping we were done w/ the heat

Just getting out of the house and into the woods is the best part of it. She will get that BIG ONE latter this year. when hunting gets good.
