Evening View as the Bite Fades
« on: September 28, 2015, 12:25:48 PM »
I was on a private lake Friday evening crappie fishing.  I couldn't help but notice the beauty at this moment.  You can't see them but back in the trees several Egret's are roosting.  They were carrying on sparring with each other.  And on the bank over in the timber on the east side of the lake there was a wild hog convention going on.  It sounded like they were arguing over who was boss hog.  It echoed across that water and was really loud.  It was a nice evening.

you're like me. I get wrapped up in my surroundings too much at times. I missed a dandy musky last year because I was watching a doe and fawn

I am convinced that almost all of us live for moments like that. It is not the game we harvest, things we own, or the need to outdo the other guy but the magical moments in nature when you know God is near and the beauty of the great outdoors takes your breath away. Thanks for sharing.

Well said Foxhunter126.  And to put icing on the cake I had a cooler full of crappie when I left.

Great pic and trip.

Something very serene and relaxing about being on a quiet (from other people)  lake as the sun goes down.

That looks like a place I would love to hang out, even if the crappie didn't cooperate. Sitting on a peaceful lake anywhere and just doing nothing is the best way to clear the mind and cleanse the sole. Thanks for sharing.
