Back after the geese
« on: September 02, 2015, 12:22:49 PM »
Yesterday was the first day of the early season for us here. Andrew had school and I had to work day shift so we missed the good hunting time, but we made the best of it in the late afternoon. We had two come in and he knocked them both down, but one looked like he had a 150hp motor on his back as fast as he swam away in the river. I had no chance of catching up to him. He did end up with this one. Good start to the season to come.

Congrats to the both of you!  What's your favorite way to prepare them for the table?

Congrats on your goose hunt.  Our early season started yesterday, too.  I had been planning on going out, but didn't.

Madgomer, we had tried them just about anyway you can think off, but we keep going back to cutting the breast into about one inch thick slices and marinate them in Italian dressing and cook on the charcoal. We also do the same but use BBQ sauce or a hot sauce which is real good also.

Yari, same weather here, and to be honest, if my son didn't want to go so bad I do believe I would be in the AC. However if he says lets go, then we go. LOL We are headed back after them Saturday morning as well. he is 13yrs old now so it wont be long he will be out doing his own thing so I will take advantage of it while I can.
