« on: August 25, 2015, 07:04:04 PM »
Anyone see the forecast by state yet?

I am interested in NJ, MD and Tx if you have any Intel.

Ps ad to say, with no buddies left in Alabama, I can't go back there.

I don't know about the others but in Md you want to hunt about Nov 3 through the 8th. The rut is on about the same time every year. since you are hunting a bit north of me it may start a day or two earlier. Good luck!

You might want to check with your state's DNR, or whatever they call it.  In MI, the rut usually takes place the first two weeks in November, just before the firearm opener.  I don't know what triggers the rut, but  I do know the exact date can vary.  A couple of years ago, the peak of the rut took place on the third or fourth day of our firearm season, and I had 8 bucks behind the house.  Never had seen that many bucks in one day, let alone one season.  Two bucks accepted our invitations and became dinner.
