Sent you a text Dutch. Looking forward to meeting up. Stay warm.

Dang shame I have to go to Ohio to walleye fish to meet a guy from Indiana...... Looking forward to it.

Last year I drove to KY to meet a guy that lives in the same county I do.   @--0--0117 @--0--0117

Funny how it all works out.    LOL

I'm off for an early start. I have been told they are pulling the "hogs" out right now so me and some friends are heading over tomorrow evening and going to do a one day fish day this Sunday. Will let everyone know how it goes.

The bite was very slow but my son landed a 91/4 pounder and one of the guys with us got a 11pounder. Will post a photo latter.

Those are a couple of nice looking hogs there, and will make for some very good eating. Were you jigging for them and how far out were you fishing? Was that Wild Wings Marina that you were fishing from?

Yes its right behind Wild Wings. We were 7 miles out and used jigs in average 20 foot water. The bite was very slow for the day because the water was only 37 degrees. Needs to warm up to the low 40s to really fire them up. We were marking a TON of fish, just no real bite that day. By the end of April they will be on fire I think.

That's good info, and yes the water temp need to creep up there a bit. I will be going over there this Thursday to help Soft Plastics guru put the "Rippin Lipz" in the water. Unfortunately the weather is to be cold and windy, that being said, if it's not too bad we will take a run out and try to pick up a couple of lunkers. A test run for April Walleyeblast. Probably have to eat a few knuckles while I'm there too.

I am very much looking forward to this. My work schedule lately has been killing me, I really need some outdoor time.

I know is acceptable and normal to keep and eat those big hogs out there, but it would be very hard for me to do that. for years it's been pounded in my head in the midwest to let those big spawners go. I kept one 27" 6-7 years ago because it died and ate it. I still don't feel good about that.

it's funny how different parts of the US have different rules. it's obviously working for them in ohio. wish I could go. those are some big eyes

I'm like you yari...I've always let the big fish go if they have not spawned. We have a few mountain lake here with walleye but I'm mainly a bass fisherman and release almost all of them. I'll catch a mess of crappie during the spring to put in the freezer to eat. I do love the taste of walleye and hope to bring some home.

Well folks the plug is in the boat and the boat is floating on the water. Never left the marina today due to 35-40 mph wsw winds. So we made a break for Porky's and had a dozen Knuckles and an Italian Sub. The knuckles were first class winners today.  ##$%#111

We will try to make it out for a test run on Sunday.  ^^&&$%GT ##$#@#$%
