Deer head mount ?

I was just wondering. What do you have to pay for a shoulder mount in your neck of the woods?

Snort - I was going to guess 450 to 550 based on what I've been hearing in our area, I'm not far from you.  If you don't already have someone in mind, ask around & take the time to see the work of a few individuals before you commit - that beast you harvested deserves a great mount.  I can dig up some taxidermist recommendations for you in the Monroe and Peoria County areas if you're interested.

My Taxidermist is considered one of the best around here.  He charges $575 for a shoulder mount.

Terry Day is doing my mount this year. He is very good and has done some of the biggest deer in the state the last couple years. He is not the highest priced, but not the cheapest.

I've had similar experience - the guy we prefer isn't the most expensive either, but you do have to be patient as he has a long waiting list (that's generally a good indication of their quality).  You know those guys could charge more if they chose to.
