WI gun opener
« on: November 22, 2014, 06:06:49 PM »
well it was in the 30's and I sat all day. perfect. I saw at least 7 different bucks. only 2 were 1 year olds. one was an old dog w/ very few points. he was at least 5-6 years. fun to see.

I had an 3 yr old 8 pt locked on a doe in the thicket behind me. another 2-3 year old 8 pt came in and picked up the does scent. guess what happened. it was a brawl 50 yards behind me. I climbed down and got w/I 10 yards. I was hoping one was a bigger buck. it went on for 10-15 minute and I was in the middle. It was incredible. what a blast to see the battle

i'll be back out in the AM

good luck to all and be safe

That's awesome. Are you at the cabin or in the suburb spot?

Cool experience! you don't get to witness events like that very often.

one mile from home. I haven't seen seven bucks in a year at the cabin for years. I wish it was more than 40 acres so I could roam a little. i'm use to hundreds of thousands of acres of national forest. I guess  bigger is better

I forgot how much fun it was to see so many deer. up until 6-7 years ago, the cabin was like this. then came the DNR allowing 5 doe tags PER DAY and the wolves. now i'm lucky to see 3-4 bucks per year. it's pretty sad
