« on: October 26, 2014, 02:50:45 PM »
Going on here between the rains..... these stinking winds and PT. I have had little time in the woods...took daughter for a ride in gator and trails I cleaned the other day...Mr B. bought the commercial sized Sthil leaf blower...were filled with huge downed limbs.... any how finished clearing a few more trails for a hopeful hunt tomorrow and pulled the card on a stand I haven't been in in a while due to leaf litter and winds...Split brow is back and is was alive as for 3 days ago....227 pics all night time for him a couple of other bucks the doe ...just turkey during the early morning...now I am getting the fires stoked...if weather would just calm down!!!

They have had me doing muscle strengthening.I have been doing very well and they have added weights. As long as I'm careful about swelling they are letting me do more. Best to have trail clear so I don' trip going down them...That blower clears every thing even good sized rocks.

OMGosh it did and today is gorgeous...low 30's and NO WIND @--0--0123...I had 2 epic fights happen near by ...one of the big boys walked past and a doe and twins...all in shooting range but in the dark...then at 8 I called in a 1 1/2 yo that gaave me all kinds of shots 10-30 yrds but he got a pass..called in another small buck that came out of the farmers feild to our woods looking hard for the grunter...circled down and around me a few hundred ft out...saw a few more doe at about the same distance...I now know where at least one big guy is bedding...I believe they were all up and on the feed all night...bedding now ...I'll be going back out in a bit...

Well, Glow, I was all stoked to hit the woods Nov 1 but the landowner (horse farm) is having an all weekend horseshow and we have been told to try and have our couple bow hunter out of the woods by noon Friday.  Nov 1 (Saturday) is opening day for muzzleloaders) and we cannot hunt again until Nov 4.  I have talked to the other couple of landowners I do have permission to hunt on and cannot hunt there on Saturday or Sunday.

Just means I will have the woods to myself on Election Day!!  (after I vote Bo)

That's a bummer...but I have gotten some good deer 2-3 days after openers here usually trying to get to their daily hide aways...Good luck...Nov 1 is the first day we in NYS can use crossbows to hunt deer in the SZ also the day we go for extra doe permits...I'll have to get my ML tag to use the xbow on Friday after PT...that just burns me!...I could have shot a turkey last night if I had it with me...there were too many eyes for me to draw on the Jake that was 12 yrds from me before he took flight and roosted in the tree behind me. I can hunt turkey  with them during bow season but not deer until a new tag and Nov1
