Great idea Dutch!   For those of you in Illinois who don't know, the Illinois Sportsmen Against Hunger team has a program set up statewide to accept and distribute donations. Here's a link to our DNR website with more info and a listing of processors who are accepting deer for the program.  It's very easy to do, and serves a very worthwhile need:

The doe I got this year was donated. They don't weigh it they just take the donation and some cash to defer the butchering costs. I asked someone else to post the photo of the die for me. Big but not huge doe for theses parts

Great idea! I wish there was a way to get an accurate tally of the overall meat that is donated by hunters every year across the country. I'll bet we would be surprised at the total.
