That's pretty neat.  Seems early for them to be getting their winter coat on though doesn't it?  (Suppose this means we have another long winter coming!)

Most all the deer have changed already...they always start at velvet shed here...but another long and snowy winter is being predicted.

Ours still have their summer coats, and while the spots are fading on the fawns, they're still pretty visible.  What the heck happened to global warming?  I'm gonna call up Al Gore & tell him he blew it!

Yep, just grabbed the cards from my cameras tonight, one had a great shot of a doe with her twins in the daylight, the doe was all decked out in her winter brown, the fawns still orange, but quickly losing the spots.  Picture was from yesterday morning - that's the first I've noticed one here this fall going brown.

Wish I had had my cell phone with me this morning , caught a tame that was at the side of the road ( ten feet ) and she was 75% winter coat and 25% summer coat so she looked like a winter deer with brown spots .  @--0--0124
