Last day of the season...
« on: May 31, 2014, 03:34:03 PM »

...and nothing. The field where I hunt is being worked today and not a bird to be seen.

Oh well, its been fun nonetheless. Any time spent outside is a good thing.

Glad you had a good season despite the absence of a bird in the freezer. A good lesson for all of us, time spent in the outdoors should be its own reward. A game in the bag is gravy! Success is not always measured by what we take home in the trunk, it is measured by what we take home in our memories!

If i measured the success of my hunts purely by the meat in the freezer I would have had to quit a long time ago. :D

My last day was interesting....started at 4a.m. ended at 7 a.m.....when a crow took his morning dump on my head....needless to say..not what I was hoping for! Then had to laugh through the gagging as I cleaned my trigger off....for it was filled with it.....Wow he seemed to have been hunting himself and aimed perfectly...Lol

My walk home was great...deer sightings and as I started down the  drive...I hear a hen yelping yards away in the neighbors field...as if to say...see ya in the fall :) I had a great season.

If you can say a good season after that dump, my hat is off to you!  That would have to make you laugh! What are the odds? Except in your case-100%!!

Looks like corn is going into the field where I hunt.   It's been beans since I started hunting there.    I'm curious to see if this changes up the deer patterns as I deer hunt along the same field.
