I just found some more info on this deer.  Its said to have been shot on Heartland Ranch in Ethel Mo. south of Kirksville.  I'm pretty sure its not fair chase...  I'll keep ya'll posted if I get anymore info.

The deer is probably thinking it wasn't a fair chase either. Kind of like bringing a gun to an arena bull fight. Who wins that chase?

Does it make sense to any of you that an area that has been hunted hard since bow season woulld be a difficult place to kill a deer.  Just because a place is fenced (6,000 acres in this case) does not mean you are shooting fish in a barrel.  However, it does mean that genetics, nutrition and age can be controlled to produce big deer.  Congratulations to the hunter.

Very nice Buck, 6000 acres that;s a little over 9 square miles sounds like fair chase to me.
