My son scored with crossbow
« on: April 23, 2014, 08:08:48 PM »
Me and my son, Andrew, went out tonight for him to hunt and he took his crossbow.

He said he wanted to show me how it's done since I shot a jake this morning with my bow. LOL

Well he showed me up just like his sister did this year.

He got a tom with a 9 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs with his crossbow at 40.5 yards

Man you would think him and his sister would stop rubbing it in to me how their bird is bigger than mine, but that's just fine with me.

Pretty impressive - I've never had the time or patience to go after a turkey with a bow, but have always wanted to give that a try - well done Ligpd!  Many congrats to your son as well with his X-bow harvest - that's a long poke!  I'm hopeful that our DNR will soon give us the green light to go after turkey with a crossbow - I may need to have you guys come out & coach me when the time comes.

Ligpd - I get humbled by my kids on a regular basis in many ways.  Hang in there, sooner or later you'll be able to get even (like when those "Leave it to Beaver" trivia questions pop up - you can smoke 'em on those!    @--0--0105
