Bassmaster's Classic

The Bassmaster's Classic kicks off today on Lake Gunterville located in Alabama. The frigid winter we had this year in the south will make for some tough fishing with the water temperatures still in the 40's. Normally this time of year the temp as in the mid 50's with fish moving up to spawn. Don't get me wrong you can catch fish in 40 degree water but you got to slow things down. Also the heavy rains have the river's muddy but Gunterville has an abundance of really large bass and things will be interesting...

Sounds like they'll be pulling them sows out of deeper water this year. That will be a good test. Less exciting but there should be some heavy ones weighed in. They should be full of eggs which will make for some high weights and possible records.

They had a Awesome Outdoor Show I attended yesterday... free of charge can't beat that... It's a breath of fresh air to go a outdoor show that was 100% gear to fishing no high pressure pitch to buy gizmos that have nothing to do with fishing or hunting.
