9/13, 9/14 and 9/15  Cut some trails to stands and put up a new stand on some land we bought in the off season.  Still need to move one stand and put up a tripod. The work never ends....  I hope it never does....

We bow hunted last Saturday evening and Sunday morning before church.

Saturday evening Jonathan (14) hunted on his own for one of the first times. He shoots a Bear Encounter set at 53 lbs. He sat in a ladder stand on a small food plot we call "The 2nd Food Plot". It is surrounded by timber with ag fields and CP33 near by. Unfortunately, he did not see anything.

My younger son Nathan (10) hunted with me in the "Taj Mahal Stand". It is a very comfortable ladder stand with a swivel seat, arm rest and a foot rest. I also have a second strap-on stand hung just above it and to the side for Nathan. He loves to go up there and sit with me! We scared up a doe and two fawns out of the CP33 walking in but didn't see anything from the stand.  We still had a great time. Nathan shoots a Bear Apprentice but he can not quite get enough pounds out of it yet to hunt. Maybe next year...

Sunday morning Jonathan and I went out to the same stands, but we didn't see anything on that sit either.

The first pic below is of the 2nd Food Plot, next is Nathan in full gear in his stand, and the final two are views from the Taj Mahal.

Hunted last Friday morning 10/18. At 8:00am saw 4 bucks still traveling together. They were not all young either. One was probably a 4 1/2, 9 point. I couldn't believe these bucks were still in a bachelor group this late in the season! Could have taken a 38 yard shot at the big one but decided to let him walk...

It don't get much better than this! Unless of course there were deer in the picture!  This is a 180 deg panoramic view from my stand this morning....
