They don't plant much Buckwheat around here but when they do the deer love it. The farmers around here rotate Soybeans and Corn year after year with winter wheat as a cover after harvest. The deer will hit the winter wheat for a while but the geese tear it up!! They have also went to a no plow deal the last 5-10 years to help Save the Bay from run off.

The field from the photos is now mowed, plowed, disced, dragged, and cultimulmulched and will be planted with timothy and birdsfoot trefoil by days end. That was the plan in June and it is coming together. Thanks for all the positive comments, and now let's hope it does what it can and is feeding deer in 2 months.
