You guys gotta see this:

http://www.racembac.com/our-products/bow-mag/

Really creative and interesting but to my reading of the Gun Control Act of 1968, each broadhead constitutes a firearm and it is quite possible that the ATF Firearms Technology Branch would hold it to be an AOW ("Any Other Weapon") as well, which means to lawfully own one, non FFL/SOTs would have to go through the same paperwork and hassle that is required for a machine-gun, silencer, short-barreled shotgun, etc.

I could be wrong, but I would be they did not have ATF FTB render a classification opinion before hitting the marketplace.

What do you all make of it?  I don't need or want one for hunting but it would be fun as heck to mess around with!

Bottom line, if ATF does not come down hard on them, a civil lawsuit will once someone gets hurt/killed.  Too bad too, I admire their creativity and drive.  We need more cool "man toy" stuff like this out there. I will buy some if they ever hit the market.  I like to own stuff that gets banned later on.

I'm sure Chipper will have some of these soon, he know these boys pretty well. It's no telling what those LA boys will come up with. I doubt if many states will allow these for deer hunting, but who knows.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but how is a broadhead classified as a firearm?

If "they" have their way, everything's gonna be banned soon!

I think they would be fun to play with, but our regulations state "no explosive type broadheads" and I am sure they would fall into this catagory.

It looked like an accident waiting to happen in my opinion. I understand why the companies design new products in the industry, just don't understand the thought process sometimes.

I wrote a small article/Post on the product back in January 2013 from the ATA Show (Archery Trade Association) and I question the safety aspect with the Company at the show and could not get a good answer from them.. I not sure it will be Banned because they are not selling the Load just the Broad head case. (If they where not banned in 6 Months I don't look for them being banned anytime soon).. My fear is the point of impact what would keep the Arrow from shattering and recoiling fragments back at the shooter?
The legal aspect from hunting with them would be put on each state's Game Laws and I bet Alabama would not care what you used to Kill Feral Hogs with but Game Animals would be a different story...
