My biggest Crappie

Caught in March 2007 in a local water supply lake in Louisa County, Virginia. 

3 lbs 0.5 oz, 17 inches long

That's a really nice Crappie BP. One of my favorite eating fish when they come out of the cold water in the spring!

that thing must have been as wide as it was long. the 17's up here aren't 3#. a little over 2# here. a lot to be said for a longer growing season.

FAT I swear it was 5 inches across and full of eggs.  she went back in the lake to make more crappie.....I was surprised when I hung it on the scale.

Very....VERY nice crappie there BP. Congrats on the catch. Nice surroundings in the pic too. I just got told of a place only about 30 miles from where I live that has lots of big crappie in it. Gonna get my 10yr old Jade and go try to find the place today! Sure would like to tie into one like that.
