Just got a hunting report from Elbis, he is hunting with a friend North of McComb, MS. He took a doe this morning and saw 25 other deer. I wish I was with him!

I'm at home with bronchitis and also down in my back, I won't express my feelings about the subject any further, it could get nasty!  @--0--0100

I've been using my inhalers, taking Musinex and staying out of the bad weather and I feel much better today. I should be ready for work on Wednesday and hopefully for the woods this weekend.

Our deer usually run about 160# - 170# at Liberty, MS. They get much bigger as you get closer to the MS river, like the 235# area.

Also, Elbis got another deer yesterday morning, a nice 8 point. I'll post pics when I get them. The group he was hunting with got 6 deer, three people hunting. He said deer were chasing everywhere!

A 6 point was taken at our camp, by Officier Mikey's wife. I don't have a full report from our camp yet.

We did pretty good last weekend, Elbis got another 8 point and Chipper got a 7 point. I got another goose egg! It was a nasty wet weekend and some good exercise was gotten with a 4 hour tracking job on Elbis' deer in the rain and in the swamp at night. Us old folks were plumb wore out!

I'm headed up to Davis Island, MS in the morning for a three day hunt, some of the best hunting in the state of LA, but the restrictions are tough. I'll have to shoot only 5 1/2 year olds or culls, but I can shoot all the does that I can. I hope to have a good report for you on Sunday.

Well, the Davis Island hunt was fun, but the temps were pretty hot for this time of year, I hunted in a long sleeve tee shirt this past Saturday evening.  I'll write about it on www.thedeercamp.com and then post it here too. I have a pic that was taken by one of the hunters at the camp next door, nice deer.
