this dear broke his leg last year and rack was reallly little this year you can tell its same deer for one rack just got a lot bigger and two wont put any weight on his leg but what you think about this fellow

He looks to be a nice mature buck who has had a little problem.  I would consider taking him out of the herd.

If given a chance he should be taken out. I don't know what your predator situation is in IA. Since he made it this long he is a survivor.
