The wife started practicing....

She's hoping to be ready by October. Accuracy wise, she's there at 15 yards. Now we just have to get her to 40# draw weight, she's at about 37#s now.

37 to 40 not much of a jump, she might even get to 45 and that is a great group at any range. Is 40 pounds the min for hunting for you @--0--0117 it is 35 here

The Illinois regs state to be legal you must have "a minimum pull of 40# at some point with a 28 inch draw".  The conservation officer I checked with said it means that you have to hit 40# draw weight before you draw 28". Arrow minimum length is 20". She has a 25" draw length.
