Night time images?

JALA RUT:
What is the recommendation for trail camera night time images...any preferences for flash vs infrared - pros and cons for each?

Hunly:
I use both kinds and get good results with both. I use my no flash cameras in areas that are not to private so they are not discovered

I was using flash until I got one picture of a big nice buck and you could see the look on his face from the flash getting him.  Never got another picture of him.  I switched over to IR after that.  I think I am the only one using trail cameras in my area so they were not used to a flash.  Some of my IR's make a click when they take a picture and you can see any new deer looking at the camera on the second or third picture.  I have my cameras set up for 3 shots at 13 seconds apart.

It depends on the deer in your area and how spooky they are, my viewpoint .

Possum:
I prefer Flash over IR due to the fact I like Color night time pictures...
Close up flash photo's will not wash out (bright white images) like IR photo do at close range.

CTARCHER:
Just depends on your personal preference. If you don't mind B&W photos with the infrared they are good. Flash for full color at night and it really doesn't spook the game.
