The Historic Carpenters Bluff Bridge
« on: July 03, 2012, 11:06:17 AM »
I recently got access to hunt a property in Oklahoma not far across the Red River. I took this pic with my iPhone yesterday. This is Carpenters Bluff Bridge and the Red River. I have to cross this bridge to get to my hunting area. It's single lane so you have to check if any cars are coming before you commit to crossing. If someone from the other end has already committed you wait until they cross. I also pasted a link if anyone cares to read a little fact sheet about it. It's pretty cool I think.

there are still a few of them around. MN turned one of them into a toll bridge. i didn't know it and went over w/ a wave the first time. then someone informed me of my error.

old bridges are a little scary
