First practice of the year
« on: May 25, 2012, 12:11:31 PM »
Got the matthews out and dusted her off for the first time this year, and got a quiverful of practice shots off, I found out I can get exactly 20 yards across my backyard, so I can sneak a few shots here and there in the evenings without having to go out to where I normaly shoot.  Only problem is, the Z7 shoots them throught the target and into the fence, and my son ratted me out, Mom, look what dad did to the fence!!! Luckily they hit the 2x4 stringer, so no boards to replace.  So I will have to bring my Riverbottom buck in, they dont go through that.

Just took mine to the shop for a tune-up and to replace some servings that are a bit worn. Drew our archery elk tags for Colorado so we will be in the woods in early September. Range is all set up and ready to go. Hope my groups are as tight as yours!

I just switched to the new VersaPeep from TruGlo, with the different color and sized inserts, good deal for $15.

Nice shootin for sure. Looks like the Mathews is dialed in. You better start aiming at a different bull with each shot or you'll be replacing a lot of fletchings.

Definitely a nice group. I wish I could shoot all year long like I used to but it's just not to be, for now anyways. So I brought out my Z7 yesterday and my first 20 yard group was pretty tight too.
