               I was driving a tractor to work up a foodplot this morning and I saw big Wolf. He swam across a ditch in front of me and went into a crp field. I watched him for about 5 minutes as he traveled allmost 1 mile and dissapeared into the woods. It was a awsome sight but it got me thinking about what to use as a wolf gun. Minnesota is planning a Timberwolf season for Nov 2012. My friends and I are going to apply for permits and work as a group to thin the population. I just hope the "wolf" huggers don't do something to prevent it from happening. Anyway, after some thought today I decided to use a very accurate 7 mm Rem mag as my wolf gun. With 140 gr nosler ballistic tips the Rem 700 Sendero is capable of 6 inch groups at 600 yards. This load proved to be a poor choice for 200 pound whitetails but should be instant death on a 100 lb wolf. I hope to get the oportunity to find out.
