I was at my camp in Naples, NY and got up early to listen. Birds were gobbling like crazy on the ridge above camp but all my youth hunters have grown up. Could have cashed in this morning if I had a young one to take.

Fox, always nice to hear them! We're not too far from you...my cousin's camp is up on Italy Hill! Good to hear they're gobblin up that way.  We'll be up the first weekend of May. I won't be doing the shooting with my shoulder surgery but hopefully able to call one in for my cousin so he could bag his first bird! Good luck this season!

Nice to hear from you but we are Redwood fans due to our camp neighbor having worked there for over 30 years.

We are off Strong Hill Rd. just below the big mansion you can see up on the hill. (near the wind towers) Was in Italy Valley yesterday as my friend has to move a shed from there to another site in Town with Bob's alignment wrecker. Woods are leafed up pretty good and it looks like the middle of May already. Birds were active this morning but I never heard a shot from a youth hunter. Good luck, maybe we can get together some time.

Yep that is spring here in the NE. Our area is expected to get rain and stay in the 40s.

My cousin took his friends daughter out yesterday by Ithaca. Called in a 23lber with a 9 1/2" beard. Huge spurs. She got it on the second set up of the day.
Take a kid hunting or fishing. Get them hooked for life.
