I use the Straight Creek calls that I won right here on TH. They are easy to use and nice looking too.

Most of mine are hand made and hand tuned by a feller down in LA...Brian makes some of the best calls I have ever used and some of da purdiest ones also...he's down and out for a bit due to some health problems (he's on the mend though) check his stuff out at http://heirloomgamecalls.com/

I have used straight creek calls, last year, but always find myself going back to Legacy mouth calls.....  The Straight Creek calls sound great, but I found myself having to shave the calls down for that perfect fit, with the Legacy I don't have to... just personal preference...  There is a mulitude of calls out there now and most if not all resemble a hen sound... Get you a few different ones, see what you like, and go from there... I have heard wild hens in the woods that didn't even sound like normal hens.

I have a couple of homemade box calls.  Nothing to brag about, but I did call a tom with it last May.
