I haven't heard them, mostly because of where I live, but chainman hears them every day. I'm ready to get after them.

Nope. I will stay out of my woods; no pre-calling. I will go in quickly the week before and set up my nigh eyes and get out of the woods. I wait until the season starts. I wait for them to make the first gobble. Seems to work for me.

I've been hearing them gobble behind my house for over a week. Our season starts March 24th. I'm ready to get after them.

I am hard of hearing except for that Redbird that keeps beating on my office window thinking it's another bird on his turf

That's exactly right!!!  I love what you said.... some people go and listen, but others want to owl hoot and even call to em to make em gobble.. that's ridiculous IMO.

I know my turkies are there,  I'll let them be until the 16 when I get to go and open up a full assault on the unaware longbeards  @--0--0121
which is next Friday.....   @--0--0118  @--0--0118  @--0--0118

I like to go and listen also, but don't break out the call till I hear one sound off.
