Can you make this sound?
« on: February 14, 2012, 03:22:26 PM »
Yelp. Cluck. Cutt. Those are considered the key, basic turkey calls by most gobbler-loving fools ("Inside Track" editors included). Start getting into purrs and kee-kees, and you're stepping up to a new level. But that's not the end of it ...

If you've ever seen a real-deal professional turkey caller in action, —like Scott Ellis—then you know guys like him can make sounds you didn't realize existed. Scott's part of the elite Sting Team at Woodhaven Custom Calls.

Take the whine for example. Scott can whine like a tom that never grew a beard; watch this video to see proof ... and learn how to do it.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKOdTw_VnVk

You can find a bunch more calling and turkey-hunting tips from Scott on his YouTube channel.

P.S. Yes ... wild turkeys do actually whine. See for yourself right here.

I'm on dial up.  If I tried to listen to the whine on youtube, it would probably sound like slow hiccups.    hic..................................................cup.........................................hic...................................cup.

I like the kee kee run... we use the kee kee when a gobbler is in range and it's time to shoot him.

Whoever I hunt with I tell them to listen for the kee kee and when they hear it, if they got a shot to shoooooot

Ummmmm.....no.....I cannnot make that sound....but my....all of a sudden my fingers have frozen in fear of the person I was fixing to type......LOL     --099-780

I hunted turkey a little bit way back when, got 2 too....but quit for a number of reasons.....but I am going to get back into it. I went "some" last yr with no luck, but didn't really put a whole lot of effort into it. This yr is gonna be different, at least about the effort part.
