My first attempt at making a video.  I am no Steven Spielberg and definitely don't have his equipment but it makes me want to go back every time I watch it.  The pics and videos are from several of my elk/mule deer hunts in Colorado.  The song is the best part so turn up those speakers!  Due to the size I posted it on YouTube so I could post it on here.

I have been to Colorado 4 times and have yet to get an arrow in an elk but I still have a blast and can't wait to go back.

You did an excellent job on the video, and didn't see anything amature about it. That is truely what hunting and being in the outdoors is all about. Maybe not on this site but there are hundreds of thousands of people that haven't seen anything this amazing or beyond the concrete streets and buildings that surround them every day. I hope that it gets seen a lot on youtube. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, and I hope you get a chance at a nice bull elk on your next hunting trip.

Thanks for compliments.  There is no way to describe the beauty and excitement of hunting in Colorado.  Texas has some nice features but nothing like there.  I only wish my photos and videos could do it justice.  Like you said there are so many that have never been in the back country and lived in it.  They cannot imagine or appreciate how breathtaking it is or like the song says "the wonders you will see".  The quantity and quality of the animals is amazing but it is close to impossible to close that last 50 or so yards to get a clean shot with a bow.  I did get a really nice mule deer two years ago and to this day is the most memorable hunt of my life.  It took me over 4 hours from first sighting til I shot and 1 1/2 hours of that to crawl the last 100 yards on my stomach through sagebrush.  I shot him at 12 yards.  I hope this year will be the one for my elk but I will gladly eat another tag just for the chance to go back and chase them around the mountains.

Very nice, Texas!!    I haven't been to Colorado in a while and I'm WAY overdue!      13 hour drive from here to Colorado Springs, and well worth every mile.       Just can't get away right now.        Good luck on your next venture out that way!!

We are going back again this year and hopefully I will get my first elk or another big Muley.  It is a 19 hour drive from Dallas to where we hunt in NW Colorado (part of the ranch we hunt is in WY).  It is a long drive but spending 7 days in the mountains is worth it.  We might need to fill a spot or two so we may be looking for a couple of hunters.
